Metaphysics

The term metaphysics originally referred to the writings of Aristotle, following his writings on physics. Some say that because he put his collection of new writings on the shelf, next to his books on Physics, they became known as Metaphysics. Meta means near or next to. Metaphysics is a science, which investigates first causes of all existence and knowledge. It seeks to explain the nature of being of the origin and structure of the world, bringing together the physical, the emotional, the mental, and the psyche — the spiritual character of mankind, into its true perspective of holism. It refers to the branch of philosophy that attempts to understand the fundamental nature of all reality, visible and invisible. In comparison materialists believe there is nothing but matter in motion; naturalists say that everything is made of lifeless, non experiencing energy; idealists maintain that there is nothing but ideas or mind or spirit. A metaphysician in a philosophical sense indicates an interest in attempting to discover what underlies everything.
Studies of the Metaphysics include: eastern and western religions and philosophies, eastern psychology and western psychology (Jungian), study of the soul and the spiritual world, holistic health, energy work, healing, chakra work, yoga, meditation, dream work, grief work, death, nutrition, body work, homeopathy, mental training, the etheric body, aura, light, color, aroma and sound therapies, hypnosis, intuition, personal transformation and visualization. In other words what is invisible and non physical.
